DISH-UP This adorable sugar-molded lamb for your upcoming Spring Holiday table. Sugar molded shapes of eggs, rabbits and lambs are traditional confectionary treats that in recent years have been surpassed by more commercial fare. I will never forget the first sugar egg that I received as a child. Molded of pastel sugar and decorated with icing ruffles and flowers it housed a miniature Spring scene of bunnies in green grass and flowers that could be viewed through an oval opening in the egg. It was delightful ! I have been captivated by the food art ever since!

This molded lamb is my updated version. Created with an antique mold I found,it is decorated with candied violets and icing while laying in a "meadow" of tinted green sugar. For added fun I fill it with chocolate eggs , jelly beans and other surprises. Cracking it open to retrieve the contents is as much fun as an egg hunt. It also serves as a stunning holiday centerpiece.

This Lamb can be custom ordered or the instructions to make a mold of your own can be had by commenting through this blog or emailing to jeannemarble@yahoo.com
